Govt won’t interfere, if Khaleda gets bail: Quader

Awami League general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said if BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia gets bail from court, the government will not interfere in the matter.

‘A court convicted Khaleda Zia. It is also the jurisdiction of the court whether she will get bail or not. The government has nothing to do in this regard,’ he said while addressing a meeting in the capital.

Dhaka south city unit of Awami League organised the meeting at the party’s Bangabandhu Avenue central office, marking its 70th founding anniversary.

Chaired by president of Dhaka south city Awami League Abul Hasnat, the meeting was addressed, among others, by AL organising secretary Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, general secretary of Dhaka south city unit of AL Md Shahe Alam Murad, Dhaka south city mayor Sayeed Khokan, joint secretary of Dhaka south city AL Dilip Roy and organising secretary Golam Ashraf Talukder.
