‘Gaaner Jhorna Tolay’ begins

Bengal Foundation has organised a three-day music show, featuring diverse genre songs and instrumental recitals, titled ‘Gaaner Jhorna Tolay’.

The event which commenced on Thursday is being held every day at 7:00pm at Bengal Shilpalay.

The opening day of the event featured instrumental recitals by students of Bengal Parampara. Sajib Biswas, Apurna Chowdhury and Shupantha Majumdar presented a tabla recital. They were accompanied by Abhijit Kundu on harmonium.

Following which, Mohammad Raihanul Amin and Shounak Debnath presented a sarangi recital. They were accompanied by Anjan Sarkar on tabla.

Supriya Das presented a khayal. She was accompanied by Prashant Bhoumik on tabla and Abhijit Kundu harmonium.

Besides, Luva Nahid Choudhury, director general of Bengal Foundation, showcased the new videos uploaded on the Bengal Foundation’s official YouTube channel. A total of thirty seven new videos have been added to the Youtube channel. The videos contain footages from the Bengal Classical Fest in the past along with detailed information and the history of classical artistes and forms of music.

The second day of the event featured Rabindra Sangeet rendered by reputed Tagore artiste Fahim Hossain Chowdhury and upcoming singers Nur-E-Reza Momo and Adrina Jamili.

The three-day event will end today. The concluding day will feature an album launching ceremony along with music show. Popular singer Chandana Mazumdar’s new solo album titled ‘ Pranbondhu Bihoney’ will be launched at the event.
