A two-day photography exhibition featuring works of upcoming photographers ended on Monday at Ashwini Kumar Town Hall in Barishal city.
Barishal Photography Club organised the exhibition, titled ‘Life in the Frame’, which featured a total of 106 photographs by 82 photographers.
The photographs depicted issues like nature, struggles of marginalised people in society, plight of the working class, human relationship and others.
Ram Chandra Das, divisional commissioner of Barishal inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest while SM Ajiar Rahman, deputy commissioner of Barishal, was present as special guest at the inaugural ceremony held on June 9.
‘Such exhibitions provide much needed platforms for upcoming photographers. Events like these should be organised more often,’ said Ram Chandra Das.
‘A picture is worth a thousand words. Photography is a powerful way to transmit messages and raise awareness. Photographs on different issues give us a glimpse into contemporary realities,’ said SM Ajiar Rahman.
‘This is the 3rd exhibition arranged under the banner titled “Life in the Frame”. We want to make the younger generation interested in photography,’ Mustasinur Rahman Alvi, president of Barishal Photography Club, told New Age.
