Bangladesh Bank on Thursday asked all the scheduled banks to ensure flawless transaction through automated teller machine, point of sale, online e-payment and mobile financial services during Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
The three-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, will begin on June 4.
The banks were also asked to ensure security of the systems of such medium of transaction including ATM, POS, online payment and MFS services, a BB circular issued on the day said.
Banks were asked to ensure feeding of adequate cash in their automated teller machines so that their clients can withdraw money round the clock during Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
If any ATM faces technical problem during the vacation, the bank concerned will have to resolve the
issue immediately and to ensure round the clock security of the ATM booths as well.
The banks will have to ensure the functioning of POS service for their clients during the festival so that the clients can settle their transactions through credit and debit cards.
BB asked the banks to take an awareness programme for their clients and merchants to tackle any fraudulent activities through the POS system.
The banks will have to provide ‘two factor authentication’ security alerts if any client makes transaction through online e-payment gateway without card (card not present).
The banks and their subsidiary companies will have to provide uninterrupted mobile financial services to their clients during the vacation.
The banks will have to operate ‘help desk’ for the clients so that no one faces harassment while settling transaction through the online system.
