Univ student’s body recovered 12 days after missing

After twelve days of going missing, the body of a private university student was recovered from the septic tank of a house in Gazipur on Thursday.
The deceased, Ismail Hossain Jisan, 24, was a civil engineering student of European University of Bangladesh.
Police arrested a restaurant businessman for his suspected involvement in the murder.
Gazipur’s Gacha police station sub-inspector Forkan Ahmed said Jisan went missing from Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on May 12 on his way to Gazipur by motorcycle.
Upon investigation following general diaries with the Gacha and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police stations by Jisan’s father Sabbir Hossain, police suspected Hasibul Islam, a restaurant owner in Gazipur.
Later, police arrested Hasibul from a house at Kathora in Gazipur.
Upon interrogation, the motorcycle of Jisan was recovered from the house and his body was recovered from a septic tank of the house.
Gacha police officer-in-charge Ismail Hossain said Hasibul has admitted that he and his accomplices killed Jisan and dumped his body in the septic tank to loot his motorcycle.
