International relation affairs adviser to the prime minister Gowher Rizvi on Wednesday said a transparent and accountable administrative management can take the country forward.
‘The government has taken a ‘zero tolerance policy’ against corruption … alongside accountable administrative management, political commitment is a must for taking the country forward,’ he said while addressing a seminar at Officers’ Club in Dhaka.
Ninth BCS Forum and JICA Bangladesh jointly organised the seminar titled ‘good governance and national development’, said a press release.
Underscoring the need for people-government’s coordinated steps to prevent corruption, Rizvi said though execution of laws is principal in this regard, but the people also have responsibility.
Cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam addressed the seminar as the special guest with Ninth BCS Forum president Tofazzal Hossain Mia in the chair.
Bangladesh Bank governor Fazle Kabir, Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industries president Nihad Kabir and chief representative of JICA Bangladesh Hitoshi Hirata joined the seminar.
