Recitation troupe Swarabanjan staged its recent production Ghum Nei Otopor portraying stories of liberation war at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Saturday.
The production, based on Ghum Nei by Nasiruddin Yousuff and Ekattorer Dingulee by Jahanara Imam, has been compiled and directed by renowned recitation artiste and Sammilita Sangskritik Jote general secretary Hasan Arif.
Artistes of the troupe narrated excerpts from the two books while others enacted parts of the incidents narrated in the books.
The production depicted hopes and dreams of freedom fighters, their sacrifices, struggles and hardships during the tumultuous days of the liberation war.
Swarabanjan artistes Dipak Ghosh, Monirul Islam, Sabiha Setu, Tonmoy Karim, Syed Ashik, Pankaj Pandey and Kaniz Hridi performed in the production.
