Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be launching his niece Sharmin Segal opposite Javed Jaaferi’s son Meezaan Jaaferi with his home production Malaal, reports India Today.
Malaal, directed by Mangesh Hadawale, is being produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain and Krishan Kumar.
Meezaan Jaaferi, who has a degree in filmmaking from School of Visual Arts, New York, has worked as an assistant director on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently busy with his next project Inshallah, which stars Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan.
Inshallah brings Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan back together after two decades.
Talking about working with Salman, Sanjay Leela Bhansali said, ‘After Khamoshi: The Musical, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Saawariya, he and I needed to make one film together, if not 10 more. I’m glad Inshallah happened. From my understanding of him, as a man, an actor and a superstar, I know this is the right film for us to come together.’
Buzz has it that Salman Khan is playing a 40-year-old businessman in Inshallah. A source close to the development told a daily recently, ‘Salman is a businessman in his mid-40s. The character is reminiscent of his turn in his 1997 romcom Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai. Alia plays a 20-something aspiring actress. All the factors, including age gap, have been taken into consideration. The story will justify the teaming up of two actors, from different generations, on a romantic journey.’
