Four Chattogram Hill Tracts based organisations on Sunday condemned the threat on four eminent rights activists including former adviser to a caretaker government Sultana Kamal.
In a joint statement, Pahari Chhatra Parishad president Bipul Chakma, Hill Women’s Federation president Nirupa Chakma, Ganatantrik Juba Forum president Angya Marma and Sramajibi Front president Sachib Chakma also expressed their concerns at the news of the threat.
The leaders urged the government to ensure security for the eminent rights activists.
Sultana on Saturday filed a general diary with Dhanmondi Police Station mentioning that the Lone Wolf magazine, a mouthpiece of the extremist organisation Jamaatul Mujahedeen, in its March 2019 issue, named Bangladeshi rights activists Sultana Kamal, Shahriar Kabir and Muntassir Mamoon as targets, terming them ‘murtad’, or apostate.
