Three drown in Padma

Three girls drowned in the River Padma in Bagha upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Jeam, 17, a Class XI student of Mirganj College, and Esha Khatun, 9, a student of Bagha Government Primary school, daughters of Zillur Rahman, and Shipra, 12, a Class VI student of Mirganj Girls’ High School and daughter of Shahidul Islam. Mohasin Ali, officer-in-charge of Bagha police station, said that the three girls went to the Padma for taking bath.
Later, local people found the floating body of a girl and then recovered two other bodies conducting a rescue operation.
They were taken to Charghat Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead.
