Recitation organisation Srot Abritti Sangsad held a programme marking its 30th founding anniversary on Friday at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Central Public Library.
The programme, titled ‘Jagge Anande 30 Bachhor’, featured performances by two Srot artistes Mahfuz Rizvi and Shamima Sultana Tandra and two invited artistes Arifur Rahman of Swarabanjan and Nutfa Binte Rabbani of Bakshilpangan.
Srot Abritti Sangsad, which was founded in 1988, is celebrating its 30th founding anniversary through a one-year celebration programme, which began in November last year.
The artistes recited poems addressing issues like liberation war, human relationship and others penned by leading poets including Michael Madhusudan Dutta, Rabindranath Tagore, Jibanananda Das, Shamsur Rahman, Nirmalendu Goon and others at the programme.
Popular poems including Rabindranath Tagore’s Hariye Jawa and Debotar Gras, Jibanananda Das’s Aat Bachhor Ager Ekdin and Pakhi, Michael Madhusudan Dutta’s Bangabhumir Proti, Taslima Nasrin’s Talaknama, Shamsur Rahman’s Kakhono Amar Makey, Nirmalendu Goon’s Kashbaney Bristi and others were recited by the artistes.
