Three people including a baby boy were killed in separate road accidents in Tangail, Gaibandha, and Faridpur on Thursday.
In Tangail, a motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision with a bus on Dhaka-Bangabandhu Bridge Highway in Jokarchor area under Kalihati upazila, our correspondent reports.
The victim was identified as Md Hafizar Rahman, 35, son of Amzad Hossen of village Potnisora under Pirganj upazila in Rangpur.
Asabur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge east police station, said a Dhaka-bound bus from north Bengal region hit the motorcycle coming from opposite direction around 9:40am and leaving Hafizar dead on the spot.
In Gaibandha, a baby boy was killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Dhaka-Rangpur Highway at village West Gopinathpur in Palashbari upazila, reports United News of Bangladesh.
The deceased was identified as Tirtha, aged one and a half months.
The accident took place around 7:00am when a Thakurgaon-bound bus from Bogra collided head-on with a stone-laden truck, leaving Tirtha dead on the spot and 10 others injured, said Abdul Bashar, officer-in-charge of the highway police camp.
Police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
The injured were taken to a local hospital.
In Faridpur, a man was killed as a bus ran over him on Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Kanaipur area of sadar upazila, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Ismail Sarder, 23, a human hauler driver and son of Ishhak Sarder, a resident of village Boroghat in Boalmari upazila.
Karimpur highway police sub-inspector Nizamul Islam said a Khulna-bound bus ran over Ismail while he was cleaning his vehicle in the area around 6:00am, leaving him dead on the spot.
