Reigning champions Abahani Limited will be looking to extend their dominating run in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League when they face Prime Bank Cricket Club in a fifth round match at Fatullah today.
Star-studded Abahani is the only side in the tournament yet to concede a defeat having won all of their four games to stay comfortably on top of the table.
All-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin, who missed the last match for a back injury is expected to return to Abahani squad for the game, as he attended a full-fledged training at National Cricket Academy on Thursday.
‘I was little bit scared for MRI report but the reports came in a positive way,’ Saifuddin told reporters in Mirpur.
‘It was natural about getting scared as the World Cup is very near. And everyone dreams to play in the World Cup,’ he added.
Abahani head coach Khaled Mahmud was also happy to see Saifuddin back in action.
‘Saifuddin is building himself. He is playing well, doing well with bat. I think he is a horse for long race. He will play many years if his fitness remains okay,’ he said.
Prime Bank on the other hand, are also enjoying a good run of form in the tournament as they won three out of four matches to remain at second place.
National discarded Anamul Haque made back-to-back hundreds in previous two matches to make big contributions to his team’s success run in the tournament.
In the other matches of the day, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will take on Mohammedan Sporting
Club at BKSP while Legends of Rupganj will vie against Gazi Group Cricketers in Mirpur.
