Leading mobile operator Grameenphone on Tuesday launched IoT (internet of things) services and products, said a press release.
ICT Division state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, BASIS president Syed Almas Kabir and GP deputy CEO and CMO Yasir Azman and chief business officer Mahmud Hossain attended the GP’s IoT launching at the first day of BASIS Softexpo 2019 at BICC in Dhaka.
Telenor Group IoT head Lars Thomsen, Datasoft Bangladesh Limited managing director Mahboob Zaman, Bangla Trac group CEO M Jahangir Alam and Inovace Technologies managing director Minhaz Khan were also present.
During the initiation, GP introduced a range of IoT products and services catering to B2C, B2B and B2G requirements, said the release.
GP launched a ‘Smart Home’ solution with Datasoft Bangladesh Limited, which will allow customers to control home appliances and ensure home safety.
The ‘Smart Home Starter Kit’ will start at Tk 7,999 and comprises of motion, smoke, gas and water leakage sensors.
With its partners, GP launched other services like ‘SEEMO Smart Security’ solution, ‘Smart Attendance’ for schools and offices, Industrial IoT solutions for factories and Smart Metering solutions for electricity, water and gas utilities.
About IoT launching Yasir Azman said, ‘With the vision of empowering societies, Grameenphone aims to improve lives, empower people and digitalise businesses through IoT, by collaborating and co-creating with local partners, start-ups and government organisations.’
