Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation lifted their third consecutive National Women’s Handball Championship title with a crushing 27-9 point win over arch-rivals Bangladesh Ansar and VDP in the final on Wednesday.
Sumi Begum and Falguni Biswash netted six goals each while Shipli Begum scored five goals for BJMC to earn their 10th national title.
The winners took a clear 12-4 point lead in the first-half and added 15 more goals to outshine their old-foes.
Shilpi was adjudged as the best player of the final.
Ansar, however, still maintained a richer trophy cabinet than BJMC as they won the national title 16 times in 27 editions.
In the third place deciding match at the same venue, Bangladesh Police Handball Club beat Dhaka District by 30-11 points.
Health and family welfare minister Mohammad Nasim distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
