The 10th edition of International Children’s Film Festival will begin on January 24 simultaneously at 11 venues in four divisions.
The weeklong festival will feature 200 films from 54 countries, said the organisers at a press conference held on Tuesday at Liberation War Museum.
Children’s Film Society has will organise the festival to create child viewers and aspiring filmmakers, they said.
The press conference was attended by festival director Abir Ferdous, Children’s Film Society advisor and filmmaker Morshedul Islam and its general secretary Munira Morshed.
The main venue of the festival will be the Central Public Library’s Shawkat Osman auditorium.
Other venues in the capital are Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Alliance Francaise Dhaka, German Cultural Centre and British Council.
Films will also be screened at different venues in Rajshahi, Chittagong and Rangpur cities.
Except for the inauguration day, four films will be screened at each of the venues from morning to the evening.
Films will be screened in seven sections including International Competition, Social Film, Children’s Filmmaker Section—Bangladesh, Children Filmmaker’s Section—International, Young Bangladeshi Filmmaker Section, Social Film Section and International Film Competition, and Non-Competitive Section.
