Afzal’s books hit book fair

Two books penned by actor-director Afzal Hossain have hit the Ekushey Book Fair.

The books namely 19 Number Kabita Mokam and Shaban Makha Roud were launched at a programme held at at Chhayanut Auditorium on Monday.

19 Number Kobita Mokam contains 50 poems and Shaban Makha Roud comprises published and unpublished stories of Afzal Hossain.

The books have been published from Ananya Prokashoni.

Renowned Rabindra Sangeet singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya commenced the book launch presenting Tagore songs.

Bannya rendered songs like Tomar kotha hetha keho, Jani na go shadhan tomar, Shukhohin nishidin poradhin hoye, Krishnokoli ami tarei boli and others.

Thespian Mamunur Rashid, managing director of Channel-i Faridur Reza Sagor, filmmaker Morshedul Islam and actress-painter Bipasha Hayat, among others, were present at the book launch.

‘Afzal Hossain is not only a good actor and director but also an artist, writer and freethinker,’ said Mamunur Rashid.

‘The books are available at Ekushey Book Fair. I hope readers will find the books entertaining,’ said Afzal Hossain.
