Two police officers were withdrawn on Sunday afternoon on charge of raping a college girl keeping her confined in a room of government-run Dak Bungalow of Saturia upazila town in Manikganj district for two days.
They withdrawn police officers are Saturia police station sub-inspector Sekendar Hossain and assistant sub-inspector Mazharul Islam.
Manikganj police superintendent Rifat Rahman Shamim said that both departmental action and legal action would be taken against them after investigation.
The 22-year victim, also Higher Secondary Certificate candidate, alleged that the perpetrators also forced her to take Yaba.
The victim alleged that SI Sekendar took a loan of Tk 1 lakh from her aunt five years ago and he was supposed to return her Tk 3 lakhs.
The victim and her aunt went to Saturia police station on Wednesday afternoon to take the money from Sekendar.
When they met with Sekendar, he took them to Saturia Dak Bungalow and after a while ASI Mazharul Islam joined them.
The victim said that the two police officers kept her and her aunt confined in separate rooms.
The policemen forced her to take Yaba pills holding her hostage at gun-point and raped her several times, the victim said, adding that later, the duo released her and her aunt on Friday morning.
The girl filed a complaint with the Manikganj police superintendent in this regard on Sunday.
The police superintendent said that he ordered the authorities concerned to withdraw the alleged rapists from the police station and attached them to the district police lines.
However, SI Sekendar Hossain denied the allegation against him.
