Germany-based trade fair organiser Messe Frankfurt will hold a four-day show on technical textile namely ‘Techtextil and Texprocess’ in May 14-17 at Frankfurt in Germany.
This year’s show will give special focus on ‘urban living’ as the United Nations has estimated that almost 70 per cent of world’s population will live in metropolises and megacities by 2050, Gunter Veit, chairman of Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies, said at a press conference at Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Sunday.
He said that the population of metropolises and megacities would pose new challenges including housing, mobility concepts, food supply and healthcare provisions.
He said that the expo would focus on how technical textile could make daily life easier, better and safer.
He said that Techtextil covered technical textile and its applications such as geotextiles, medical textile, safety and security wear, protective garments and sports clothes.
Texprocess will show the whole range of textile-garment machinery from design, layout, cutting, making, trimming, digital textile printing, conditioning, finishing, textile logistics and textile recycling, he said.
Bangladeshi manufacturers could learn a lot about the latest technology in textile and apparel sector to enter into technical textile market and establish network with the potential buyers by participating in Techtextil and Texprocess expo, he said.
Messe Frankfurt Bangladesh CEO Omer Salahuddin also spoke at the press conference.
