Shabdabali’s Baishakhini tours India

Barishal-based theatre troupe Shabdabali Group Theatre toured West Bengal, India with its latest liberation war play Baishakhini earning acclaim from West Bengal audience.
The troupe staged four shows of the play, which is adapted from Chandan Sen’s story and is directed by Syed Dulal, earning acclaim from the audience and theatre activists alike, informed Syed Dulal.
‘We are very pleased and honoured that the play was well-received by audience and theatre activists in West Bengal,’ said Dulal.
Shabdabali staged the play at Kalyani Kala Kendra Mancha on January 27, at Nazrul Shatabarsha Sadan Mancha on January 28, at Shantiniketan on January 30 and at Tepantar Natyagram on February 1.
The play revolves around the story of a war-heroine and also depicts how the liberation is seen by women of different generations.
