Nusrat Jahan Alo emerged champion in the Begum Laila Alam 10th International Rating Women’s Chess Tournament after the seventh and final round at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room in NSC tower on Saturday. The title winner was decided in a tie-breaker after four players — Alo, Jannatul Ferdous, Afrin Jahan Munia and WIM Rani Hamid — earned identical 5.5 points each after the final round. Jannatul, Munia and Rani Hamid finished send, third and fourth respectively. In the final round games, Alo played out a draw against Rani Hamid, Munia drew with Ahmed Walijah while Jannatul beat WCM Noshin Anjum. — New Age
