Kali O Kalam Award conferred on four

Four young writers and poets received prestigious Kali O Kalam Tarun Kabi O Lekhak Puraskar 2018 on Tuesday at an awards ceremony held at the main auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum.
Writers Nahida Nahid and Harun Pasha and researchers Shahadat Rumon and Arafat Tanim received awards in four categories.
Each of the winners got a crest, certificate and prize money of Tk 1,00,000.
Chief of Kali O Kalam editorial board national professor Anisuzzaman presided over the awards ceremony where writer-researcher professor Kaiser Haq was present as guest of honour and poet-litterateur Anisul Haq was present as the special guest.
Kali O Kalam publisher Abul Khair greeted the award winners. Kali O Kalam editor Abul Hasnat delivered the vote of thanks and Kali O Kalam editorial board member Luva Nahid Choudhury moderated the event.
Writer Nahida Nahid received the award in Fiction Category for her book Juthchari Adharer Golpo and Harun Pasha received the award in the same category for his book Tista.
Shahadat Rumon got the award in the Essay-Play-Research Category for his research work titled ‘Humayun Ahmed Chalachitra: Chirayata Rosbodh’ and Arafat Tanim received the award in the Liberation War Research Category for his book titled ‘Ekattorer Ramjan: Gonohotta O Nirjatan’.
Sommilito Sanskritik Jote general secretary Hasan Arif recited poems synchronised with sarod recital by Pandit Tezendra Narayan Mazumder.
Literary magazine Kali O Kalam has been conferring the award on young writers since 2008.
This year no awards were given in Juvenile Literature and Poetry Categories
