Jatiya Party picks Mustain Billah for Kishoreganj 1 re-election

Jatiya Party on Monday picked Mustain Billah to contest the re-election to Kishoreganj 1 constituency with its ticket.

Billah, senior vice president of Jatiya Matsyajibi Party, will contest the by-election with Jatiya Party's election symbol 'Plough', said a press release.

Jatiya Party secretary general Moshiur Rahman Ranga signed the party nomination paper of Billah nominating him as the party candidate.

Meanwhile, singer Shafin Ahmed collected Jatiya Party's nomination form to contest the Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral by-election.

Earlier, businessman Hasibul Islam joy also bought Jatiya Party's nomination form to vie for the DNCC mayoral post with the party ticket.

Besides, 29 aspirants for councillor posts of the DNCC by-polls also bought Jatiya Party's nomination forms.

The by-election to the vacant DNCC mayoral post and re-election in Kishoreganj 1 constituency will be held on February 28.

Besides, the by-polls to councillor posts of 36 new wards— 18 in DNCC and 18 in Dhaka South City Corporation — will be held on the same day.

According to DNCC election schedule, the last date for the submission of nomination is January 30 while the scrutiny will be held on February 2 and the last date for the withdrawal of nomination is February 9.

In Kishoreganj-1 re-election, the last date for the submission of nomination papers is January 31, while the scrutiny on February 3 and the deadline for the withdrawal of nomination papers is February 10.
