West Indies skipper Jason Holder overtook Bangladesh’s ace all-rounder Sakib al Hasan to become the number one ranked Test all-rounder, the International Cricket Council announced Sunday.
Sakib ‘s descend to the number two spot in the Test all-rounder rankings meant that Sakib is now the second ranked all-rounder in all three formats of the game.
Holder’s brilliant performance against England where he struck an unbeaten 202 in the second innings and took two vital wickets to take his side to a memorable triumph catapulted him to the top of the rankings.
His all-round show earned him a jump of two spots and took him to the number one slot with a career-best rating point of 440.
Sakib now sits at number two with 415 points, trailing Holder by 35 with India’s Ravindra Jadeja being a distant third with 387 points.
England’s Ben Stokes and South Africa’s Vernon Philander are placed at number four and five respectively. Australia’s Glenn Maxwell holds the number one rank in one-day internationals and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan occupies the top rank in T20 internationals.
