JSD leader Kanak killed in elephant attack in India

Syed Saimun Kanak, a central leader of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, was trampled to death by an elephant in Darjeeling, India on Friday.
Quoting Kanak’s wife Mala Saimun, Kushtia district unit Jasad president Golam Mohsin said that Kanak was killed at Dooars in Darjeeling in the afternoon. Son of former executive president of the party’s central committee late Nur Alam Ziku, Kanak was media affairs secretary of Jasad and a resident of Sadarghat-Wizeghat area in Old Dhaka.
Kanak’s body would be brought home today after conducting post-mortem examinations and he would be buried in Dhaka, Mohsin said.
Kanak went to India with his wife on January 20 to visit Dooars.
