Popular singer Tapan Chowdhury will release his new solo after a hiatus of 13 years on January 7.
The album, Phire Elam, which is the singer’s 22nd solo, will feature 10 songs including eight new and two remakes.
Singer Nancy has lent her voice in a duet with Tapan Chowdhury for the album.
The album will include remakes of Tapan’s popular songs including Jete Jete Keno Porey Badha and Palash Phutechhe Shimul Phutechhe with new music arrangements.
Eight new songs have been penned by Kabir Bakul, Tajul Imam, Sejan Mahmud, Saiful Islam Mukul and Mahbub Pilu and have been composed by Subir Nandi, Mahbub Pilu, Sejan Mahmud and Pulak Adhikari.
Shawkat Ali Emon and Sumon Kalyan have directed music.
The launching programme at Dhaka Club, organised by production house Banglar Dhol, will also mark Tapan’s birthday.
‘I have passed four decades in music industry and enjoyed love and appreciations from the fans,’ Tapan Chowdhury said.
Six musicians, who have special contributions to Tapan Chowdhury’s music career, will be felicitated at the programme, the singer said.
They are Ayub Bachchu, Subrata Barua, Alauddin Ali, Naquib Khan, Pilu Khan and Tajul Imam.
Filmmaker Amjad Hossain will also be honoured at the programme as Amjad was the first director who gave Tapan chance to render a playback in a film, Tapan said, adding the film was Bhat De.
