Two people were killed in separate incidents in Feni and Bogura districts Thursday night.
In Feni, a 54-year-old retired army personnel, Abul Kalam, of Paschim Modhugram under Chhagalnaiya upazila, was found dead in a septic tank of his house on Thursday night, six days after he went missing, said Chhagalnaiya Police Station officer-in-charge MM Murshed.
Abul went missing since January 4 while his phone was switched off, he said quoting the deceased’s relatives.
His wife Rekha Akter, 40, went away to her father’s house with their three sons and a daughter at noon on the day, the OC said.
The body, with injury marks in head, was sent to Feni Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
Rekha with her elder son Md Hasan, 16, were taken to the police station for interrogation, he added.
In Bogura, police recovered the body of a businessman Sayed Apel Mahmud, 29, of Mughiltali village under Gobindaganj upazila in Gaibanda district from Barmail-Namuza road at Chatarpukur area under Kahalu upazila in Bogura.
He had import-export business and served as the managing director of Indoor Business Cooperative Society Limited, said Kahalu Police Station sub-inspector Devid Himdra Bharma.
Apel came to visit his mother Ayesha Khatun, who was undergoing treatment at a Rafatullah Community Hospital at Thengamara in the town, he said quoting family members.
He was traceless after leaving the hospital at around 7.30 pm.
Later, police recovered his body from the spot at around 10:00am, after being informed by the locals, the police officer said.
