Over 50 school students get tiffin boxes in Rajshahi

More than 50 students of Silver Jubilee Government Primary School in Kumarpara area of Rajshahi city were given free tiffin boxes to encourage them to avail institutional learning.
Professional Social Workers Foundation donated the boxes with financial support from Eleven Star Social Services Group in Luxmipur of Rajshahi on Thursday to boost student enrolment and reduce dropout rates.
Mozammel Haque and Atiqul Islam from the foundation, Anam Iqbal and Romeo Hassan from Eleven Star Social Services Group, headmaster of the school Ambia Ferdousi Khanom and president of the school’s managing committee Towfikur Rahman were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the discussants unanimously called for proper support from the community and other philanthropists and voluntary organisations to make the primary schools more effective and meaningful.
The right amount of initiative from people could boost students’ enrolment coupled with preventing dropouts in the schools was crucial to creating skilled human resources, they said.
They mentioned that the present government of prime minister Sheikh Hasina had been working relentlessly for bringing about quality improvement in primary education.
