At least two train roof passengers were killed and another was injured after being hit by overhead girder of Pakshi Hardinge Bridge while they were travelling on a train roof at Pakshi of Ishwardi upazila in Pabna on Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as Robiul Islam, 20, son of Jalal Uddin, of village Diarhat, and Abdul Hakim, 16, son of Hafizur Rahman, of village Solagari under Shibganj upazila in Bogura.
Fire service and police sources said that around 5:00am some passengers who were travelling on the roof of Chitra Express train fell from the roof after being hit by a girder of the bridge at Pakshi in Pabna.
Ishwardi EPZ fire service senior station officer Shariful Islam told New Age that they recovered two bodies under the bridge.
Later, another injured was found and rushed him to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex.
Ishwardi Police Station officer-in-charge Bahauddin Faruqee said that the injured was identified as Shantu, 21, son of Rezaul Islam, of Shibganj upazila of Bogura.
The two bodies were sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
Bangladesh Railway formed a committee to investigate into the incident and asked to submit report by seven working days.
