Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman won’t be part of the upcoming Indian Premier League as the Bangladesh Cricket Board didn’t send the player’s name for auction, scheduled to take place on December 18.
The BCB has sent a list of total nine cricketers for the auction - Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Imrul Kayes, Abu Hider, Liton Das and Nayeem Hasan.
Sunrisers Hyderabad already retained Bangladesh all-rounder Sakib al Hasan for next season.
Sakib and Mustafiz were the only two Bangladeshis to play in the IPL in recent years.
However, BCB didn’t permit Mustafiz this time around keeping his fitness situation in mind in a World Cup season.
Mustafiz was earlier released by his former team Mumbai Indians.
Mustafiz had previously played two seasons for Sunrisers before he moved to Indians last year.
The player registration of next year’s IPL was closed earlier last week with 1003 players, including 232 overseas cricketers, signing up for the T20 tournament for 70 available spots. The tournament is scheduled to start on March 29 next year.
