CU student’s hanging body found

Police recovered the hanging body of a student of Chittagong University from a privately-run mess on the campus on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Jahangir Raju, who hailed from Sonaimuri in Noakhali district and a student of the department of economics, 2014-15 sessions. His father is an expatriate in Lebanon.
Sajjad Hossain, a student of Law Department, said that as Raju’s phone was found switched off for a long time, his brother contacted his friends over phone to find out his whereabouts.
Around 8:30 am his friends knocked on the door of his room at Etim Ali Cottage but did not get response. As they peeked through the window they saw his hanging body.
Hathazari Police Station officer-in-charge Belal Uddin Jahangir said that on information, police rushed to the cottage and recovered the body.
Proctor Ali Azgar Chowdhury said that it is not clear yet whether it was suicide or murder.
