German Jazz band Tubes and Wires enthralled the Dhaka audience performing at a concert held on Tuesday at Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The show was jointly organised by Goethe Institut and the academy.
The band comprising Niles Klein (Clarinets, Effects), Las Duppler (Rhodes, Synthesizers), Hanno Busch (Guitar, Bass) and Ralf (Drums) came to Bangladesh as the part of its South Asia tour.
The programme began with an instrumental recital titled ‘Launch Pad Disco’ followed by Worn Out Love Song, Machine, Backward Happiness, Sweep, Grid, Perpetual Wreck, Life in Time of the Big Crunch, Layer, Camarudo and Gleam.
The instrumental recital ended with the performance of Erase and Encore.
‘I step back from the position of a soloist and act with my effect clarinets more like an electronic “wind organ”. My band mates offer a flexible set of instruments that consist of guitars, basses, keyboards and drums in order to create a strange analogue-electric sound,’ said Niels Klein.
‘I enjoyed the show where the artistes presented the beautiful combinations of music. I hope the organisers will
arrange more shows like this,’ Sumaiya Akther, an audience member, told New Age.
