Two jailed for selling migratory birds’ meat

A mobile court in Sylhet sentenced two managers of a restaurant to three-month imprisonment each for selling the meat of migratory birds.
The district administration, forest department and Rapid Action Battalion jointly conducted the mobile court in Dariapara area of Sylhet city in the afternoon.
The court was led by the executive magistrates Md Helal Uddin and Md Zahangir Alam while RAB-9 senior assistant media director Mayen Uddin and district forest officer Delwar Rahman, among others, assisted the mobile court during the drive.
The mobile court officials said that they seized the meat of around 100 migratory birds from the kitchen of Panch Bhai Restaurant of the city and arrested its manager Abdul Awal and Kawsar Ahmad.
Executive magistrate Helal Uddin told New Age that they conducted the mobile court operation at the deputy commissioner’s office and sentenced the two to three-month jail.
