Chittogram Hill Tracts-based regional political party United People’s Democratic Front placed six-point demand to create polls-time level playing field in the region.
In a statement, the UPDF president, Praseet Bikash Khisa, expressed his concerns over announcing election schedule without creating level playing field in CHT and elsewhere in the country.
The demands include stopping of arresting, and torturing the UPDF members, and releasing the arrested activists, allowing UPDF, among others, to continue normal democratic activities, and ensure the monitoring of local and international observers in the CHT.
