Four-time National Film Award-winning actor Ferdous Ahmed has taken part in a campaign that aims to protect children from domestic violence.
He has recently acted in an awareness raising advertisement depicting the impact of domestic violence on children’s development.
‘I always try to participate in campaigns that raise social awareness. Children are our future and it is high time we realise that abusing them is a crime,’ said Ferdous.
Besides Ferdous, the advertisement features child psychologists, guardians and teachers, all of who talks about the impact of violence on a child’s mental and physical development.
‘The point I have tried to make through the advertisement is that a child bears of the painful memories of being beaten or abused for a long time. This has an impact on their physical and mental growth,’ said Ferdous.
With the assistance from Save the Children and Breaking the Silence, the advertisement has been made by Nucleus Limited.
Ferdous has previously participated in numerous social awareness raising campaigns, mostly about child rights, and he wishes to continue working on the issue.
‘No matter how busy I am I will always try to squeeze some time out of my busy schedule to work for the betterment of the society,’ he added.
