Security beefed up across country before polls schedule announcement

Law enforcement agencies on Thursday beefed up security measures across the country ahead of the declaration of the upcoming national polls schedule by the chief election commissioner in an address to the nation Thursday evening.

Senior police officials at places across the country said that they beefed up security measures ahead of the announcement of polls schedule and to curb any untoward incident.

‘As a part of beefing up of security measures, patrol activities and check posts were strengthened at RAB-3 area. Besides, intelligence activities by plainclothes is on with utter importance,’ said a press release issued by Rapid Action Battalion -3 press release  issued on Thursday.

RAB-3 headquarters is locaterelease issuedn the capital.

‘RAB-3 has taken huge preparation considering the present situation and to curb in iron rod if anyone want to try to any kind of chaos,’ the statement said.

In the afternoon, the ruling Awami League and its front organisations brought out processions in presence of police at places in Dhaka, including at Shahbagh, Bangshal and Bangabazar.
