Local artistes entertained the audience presenting songs, dances and poems at a cultural show held on Sunday at Bangabandhu Udyan in Barishal city.
The cultural show, titled ‘Shilper Shohor Barishal’, was organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy as part of its nationwide cultural campaign named Shilper Shohor, which began from November 1.
The academy is holding cultural shows across the country to promote cultural practices among the masses.
Deputy commissioner of Barishal SM Ajiar Rahman was present as the chief guest and president of Barishal Shangskritik Shangathan Shammanay Parishad Kajal Ghosh was present as special guest at the programme presided over by district cultural officer Hasanur Rashid Maksud.
The show drew a large audience.
‘I really enjoyed the show. I hope Bangladeshi Shilpakala Academy will regularly organise programmes featuring local artistes,’ Saiful Hasan, an audience member, told New Age.
