Kanjush wins awards in Canada

Loko Natya Dal’s popular production Kanjush got two awards participating at the Liverpool International Theatre Festival held last week at the Nova Square in Canada.
The play won the outstanding visual production at the festival contesting with troupes from nine other countries.
Azizur Rahman Sujan won the best supporting actor award.
The play got nominations in three categories—outstanding main actor (Swadesh Ranjan), outstanding supporting actor (Azizur Rahman and Masudur Rahman) and outstanding visual support.
A 12-member troupe went to Canada on Ocober 17 and staged the play at the Astor Theatre on October 20.
Kanjush is an adaptation of French playwright Moliere’s The Miser. The play has been adapted by Tarik Anam Khan and directed by Liaquat Ali Lucky.
Kanjush satirises the misery and hypocrisy of a person who recenty became rich.
