A man was killed and 20 others were injured in a clash between two factions of Awami League at Amuria in Magura on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Alam Sheikh, 35, son of Tujam Sheikh of the village.
Sirajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Magura police station, said there had been a long standing dispute between local Awami League leaders Sohel Mollah and Tipu Sheikh.
As a sequel to the enmity, the supports of the two attacked each other with sharp weapons, triggering a clash around 7:00am, leaving Alam dead on the spot and 20 others injured.
Around 10 injured people were admitted at Magura Sadar Hospital.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
A case was filed.
