At least three bodies of Bangladeshi workers, who were buried at a landslide disaster in Malaysia’s Jalan Bukit Kukus area on Friday, were recovered on Sunday, according to Malaysian media reports.
The deceased Bangladeshi workers were identified as Mithu Hossain, 30, Mustak Hossain, 25 and Aktarul, 35, according to The Star, a Malaysian newspaper.
Another Bangladeshi, Shamim, 24, was rescued from the landslide area, the report added.
The landslide occurred on Friday afternoon following downpours in the state since Thursday evening. The downpours caused the hilly areas to collapse and slide down, bringing the containers and workers’ quarters to be buried together at the construction site of the paired road at Jalan Bukit Kukus.
Despite making several attempts, labour wing officials at the Bangladesh high commission in Kuala Lumpur could not be reached for updated information.
