Railway service to begin in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City

Bangladesh Railway is going to introduce its service from Dhaka to Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City at Kaliakair in Gazipur with an aim to ease communications for investors in particular.
The decision came at a meeting held in the railway ministry on Sunday, said a press release.
Those investing in the high-tech city would be able to commute from Dhaka to Kaliakair easily and the activities there would turn more vibrant.
Two trains would be operated named Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City commuter train-1 and Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City commuter train-2 four times a day, officials said.
Besides, the construction work for a modern railway station had already been completed, they said.
Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park authority managing director (secretary) Hosne Ara Begum said that the communication for the entrepreneurs would be easier for the railway service and they would able to invest unworriedly in the hi-tech city.
Exports of IT products had already begun from the tech city, Hosne Ara said, adding that various hardware products including laptop would be produced there soon.
Railway minister Mujibul Haque, posts, telecommunication and information technology minister Mustafa Jabbar, railway secretary Md Mofazzal Hussen, information and communication technology division secretary Juena Aziz and Bangladesh Railway director general Kazi Md Rafiqul Alam were present among others at the meeting.
