3-day theatre workshop ends in Sylhet

Theatre activists in Sylhet take part in a workshop. ‑— New Age photo

A three-day theatre workshop styled ‘Direction of Drama’ organised by Sammilita Natya Parishad Sylhet, a platform of Sylhet-based theatre troupes, ended in Sylhet on Saturday.
Sixteen theatre activists from different Sylhet-based troupes participated in the three-day workshop that was conducted by Md Anwar Hossain Ronny, Ambarish Datta and Manipuri Theatre chief Shuvashish Sinha at rehearsal room of Sarada Smriti Bhaban at Chadnighat in Sylhet city.
The concluding day of the workshop featured a discussion and certificate awarding ceremony presided over by SNPS president Mishfaq Ahmad Chowdhury. Among others, SNPS’s first executive committee president Ambarish Datta, its director Champak Sarker and general secretary Rajat Kanti Gupta spoke at the programme.
The speakers said that there is no substitute for hard work. Therefore, theatre artistes must train hard in order to improve their skills.
They urged different theatre troupe to hold regular theatre workshops for theatre activists and enthusiasts in Sylhet.
Following the discussion, the organisers distributed certificates among the participants.
