Bodies of mother, daughter recovered in Sirajganj

The police on Wednesday recovered the bodies of a mother and her daughter from Rail Colony neighborhood of Sirajganj.
The deceased were identified as Sumi Khatun, 40, wife of Abdul Khaleq, a rickshaw puller, and their daughter Mala Khatun, 14, a class IX student of Sirajganj Railway School and College.
Sirajganj sadar police sub-inspector Mokarram Hossain said that the bodies, hanging from ceiling, were recovered on Wednesday evening.
He said that Abdul Khaleq beat up both Sumi and Mala on Tuesday over a relation of Mala with a boy in the neighborhood.
Mala went out of home and took shelter to the house of the boy recently.
Mala returned home after the senior citizens of the neighborhood intervened into the matter.
On Tuesday, Khaleq beat up both of wife and daughter over the matter, which police suspect might have led them to commit suicide.
The bodies were sent to hospital for autopsy.
