Detained internationally acclaimed photographer Shahidul Alam’s bail application has been set at serial 354 in the list of matters to be heard by High Court Division today.
His application is the penultimate item in today’s 355 cause list, shows the Supreme Court website.
Since September 18, Shahidul Alam’s application has been pending in the vacation bench of Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice Abu Taher Mohammad Saifur Rahman.
His lawyer Shahdeen Malik said that this vacation bench would cease to exist after Tuesday.
On September 10, the same bench rejected Shahidul Alam’s bail petition after directing metropolitan sessions judge Imrul Kayes to dispose it of by September 11.
Following rejection of his bail application by judge Imrul, pending in his court since August 14, on September 18 Shahidul Alam filed a fresh bail application in the same bench of the HCD.
Shahidul Alam has been refused bail since he was picked up by the Detective Branch from his Dhanmodi residence on the night of August 5.
