At least 33 fishermen remain missing for past five days in the Bay of Bengal.
The fishermen, mostly from Kalapara and Mahipur of Kalapara in Patuakhali, went for fishing in deep sea on September 16 with FB Delwar and FB Habiba.
Alipur-Mahipur Fishing Port Samity president Ansar Mollah said that four fishing boats carrying 70 fishermen went for fishing at the west part of Bay on September 16. There was low pressure in the bay at that time.
Two boats FB Bismillah and FB Nur Banu returned back to port but another two boats remained missing with 33 fishermen.
Kalapara upazila nirbahi officer MdTanvir Rahman said the fishermen remained stresses. The Bangaldesh Navy is trying to get information about them, he said.
‘We yet to know what happened to them,’ he said.
