Good news for comic book fans. Bengal Boi has launched a comic corner named Comic Cache on Saturday.
Comic fans can get their hands on rare comic books and more displayed at Comic Cache, which was launched at Chilekohta, located at the rooftop of Bengal Boi in Lalmatia.
Bengal Boi is displaying an extensive collection of original comic books and superhero memorabilia collected by late writer and collector Ahmed Kamal Bhuiyan at its comic corner.
Ahmed Kamal Bhuiyan passed away last year after suffering from cancer.
Director general of Bengal Foundation Luva Nahid Chowdhury, cartoonist and editor of monthly satirical magazine Unmad Ahsan Habib, director general of Bengal Institute Kazi Khaleed Ashraf and Ahmed’s sister Ayesha Kamal, among others, were present at the launching ceremony.
Luva Nahid Chowdhury thanked Ahmed’s family for sharing his huge collection of comics at Bengal Boi.
Ahsan Habib said, ‘Ahmed’s collection is very unique. He inspired the young generation to collect and read comics’.
The collection includes a wide number of rare comics published by DC and Marvel, including original runs of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.
Comic lovers will be able to read the books by becoming members of Comic Cache, informed an official of Bengal Communications.
‘Anyone will be able to become a member of Comic Cache. All the necessary information about rules of membership will be provided on the official facebook page of Bengal Boi soon’, said the official.
Comic lovers can visit Comic Cache from 10:00am-09:00pm daily.
