Animesh Aich, who has made a name for himself as a director, has played a lead role in the upcoming film titled ‘Debi’, based on late popular writer Humayun Ahmed’s popular novel with the same title.
Animesh Aich shared about his experience on acting, future projects and more in an interview with New Age.
‘As a director I always have to work with actors. Acting helps me understand the requirements of actors’, said Aich, who has previously directed Zero Degree (2015) and Voyangkor Sundor (2017).
‘Debi is an immensely popular novel of late writer Humayun Ahmed. When I was offered to play a lead character in the film, based on the novel, I agreed right away’, said Aich, who has played the character of Anis in the film.
‘I have played the character of Anis, who is husband of the film’s lead Ranu. Jaya Ahsan has played the character of Ranu, while Chanchal Chowdhury enacted the character of Misir Ali in Debi, which has been directed by Anam Biswas’, said Aich, who has previously acted in two films Lalon (2004) and Runaway (2012).
Aich is also acting in Tokon Thakur’s government grant winning film Kaanta.
‘Kaanta aims to introduce new actors to the country’s film scene. The cast members of the film were selected through audition’, said Aich, who added that he has no plans of directing any new films before the next general elections.
‘I have no plans of directing any new films before the next general elections because producers are not willing to invest any money due to political crisis. After the elections I wish to start my next project. I am currently developing the story of my next film’, said Aich.
