Household consumers suffered a lot due to poor gas supply in some areas of Chattogram on Tuesday just after a day of adequate supply of 300 million cubic feet per day liquefied natural gas (LNG).
People at Askardighi, Uttar Kattali, Agrabad, Bakali, Bohoddarhat, Goni Bakery, Love Lane and Jamal Khan suffered the most as there was no gas supply in the morning.
Bakalia resident Shaid Uddin told New Age, ‘In the morning there was no gas supply. We bought breakfast from a nearby restaurant.’
Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited manager Anupam Dutta told New Age that due to a technical problem at Anwara City Gate Station, consumers suffered on Tuesday morning.
The problem occurred at about 4:30am and continued till 9:00am in the morning. Later, the supply resumed again, he said.
Just on the previous day, Chattogram started getting 300 million cubic feet per day gas through Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited distribution line. With the new gas supply, Raozan power plant, Shikalbaha Power plant and fertiliser factories, which were closed earlier due to gas shortage, reopened.
