The issue of several Bangladeshi cricketers being involved in wrongdoings is still fresh in the air but it appears there is no ending to the saga.
Fast bowler Shahadat Hossain, who and his wife earlier spent time in jail for torturing a maid, struck the headline this time for hitting a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver on busy Dhaka street on Sunday.
The 32-year old cricketer, who has been out of the national team since 2015, allegedly hit driver Mohammad Liton as his auto-rickshaw left a scratch on the player’s car after bumping into it in city’s Asad Gate area.
‘It was my small mistake but the car had no serious damage,’ Liton told New Age over phone.
‘He came down from his car and without listening to me started beating me. He also tore apart my uniform,’ said Liton.
‘He also showed ugly gesture and used vulgar words to a reporter who was filming the incident,’ he added.
Shahadat, who was driving his car during the incident, could not be reached for comments.
Last week Bangladesh Cricket Board banned batsman Sabbir Rahman for six-month from international cricket for using a Facebook rant.
