Chhayanaut artistes rendered national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s popular songs at a programme held on Friday at Chhayanaut Shangskriti Bhaban auditorium in Dhanmondi.
Chhayanaut organised the show marking national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s 42nd death anniversary, which was observed on August 26.
Chhayanaut artistes entertained the audience with group and solo performances.
In solos, Tanvir Ahmed rendered Dakte tomai pari jodi, Nasima Shahin sang Bhadrer bhora nodite, Manish Sarker rendered Amar bhober obhab, Nusrat Jahan sang Shuili phooler mala, Rezaul Karim rendered Megher dhumru ghono baje, Nahian Durdana Suchi rendered Joy brokkhobiddya shib- saraswati, Priyonto Dev rendered Kemone rakhi akhi bari, Farhana Akther rendered Ai moru parer hawa, Jannat E Ferdous sang Ore nil jamunar jol, Syeda Sanzida Zohora Bithika rendered Roshoghono Shyam, Srabanti Dhor sang Tumi jotoi dohona dukher and Sumon Mazumder performed Mago chinmoie rup dhore ay.
Chhayanaut artistes in group rendered Shubhro sommujol he chiro nirmol, Desh gouro bijoye debraj, Mrritu nai dukkho nai, Snigdha shyam beni barna eso and Sabuj shobhar dheu khele jay.
Besides, Kristee Hefaz and Rafiqul Islam respectively recited selected parts from letters written by Nazrul Islam to Qazi Motahar Hossain.
‘We organised the programme to recall Kazi Nazrul Islam and promote his songs among the young generation’, Helal Ahmed, an official of Chhayanaut, told New Age.
